Summer Sunglasses: Oversized Sunnies 2009!

Filed under: Seasonal (Summer, Winter Trends, etc) — luxebeaute @ 7:16 pm

Yes, I already know the fashion police have a warrant out for my arrest over my love for Chanel half tints and huge sunglasses in general…until now that is!  I have been collecting mod-esque shades for abt 12 years, from vintage to designer over sized and generics; I have about 50 pairs and  I adore each and every one of them. Lucky for me, big sunglasses are where it’s at again this summer.  Bright bold  and unique shades and shapes are the cat’s meow this summer, so I can utilize some of my most loved by me/hated by my friends pieces=such as my beloved Dior orange aviators, lol.

For those of you who want to work the big sunglasses trend but don’t typically purchase them regularly, I advise going with cheaper ones so you can pic up a variety of shapes, shades and colors. Since I already have a pretty big collection, I too am opting to forgo the pricier delights this summer for similar and inexpensive styles.

The Jackie O’ 70’s era squared look is big this summer-instead of the Bvlgari ($500) or Ninna Ricci version ($250), try the  vintage inspired Jackie O’s from Blue Dame ($12.00) or Farah Squares and galas from 80’s Purple ($10.00). If you like the shape of Prada’s Butterfly sunnies ($250), check out the multi butterflies carried by Blue Dame ($15.00)- they come in a great array of colored frames, many of which are two tone. Open temple sunnies are hot this summer- Dior, Michael Kors Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford and Cavalli are just a few of the designers feeling out this trend. At $175-$500 …. I love the pink suite rimless sheilds ($15.00) and Yvettes.
