SAG AWARDS: What a Sad (fashion) Sag

WHen one things of the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), high fashion is not the first thing that comes to mind. As far as red carpet events go, this is by far the least glitzy of them all. But being that this was the only red carpet event of the season, it would be remiss to not “go here”.

Hits: This year, the white dresses had it! Eva Longoria stole the show in this one, wearing a low back white and silver Naeem Khan gown. Surprisingly, it was the youthful Brittany Snow coming in second in a beautiful white bejeweled Zuhair Murad which accentuated her curves, she looked ultra old school glam. Terri Hatcher looked amazing ina stunning off white Badgley Mischka with pastel florals and crystal detailing. Christina Applegate was tres elegant in a Grecian white with silver embroidered gown by Elie Saab… America Ferrera wore a sort of drab color yet perfectly styled Monique Lhuillier gown which accentuated her curves. Speking of our hourglass ladies, Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez  hit the nail on the head when it comes to flattering your body type. While I found this Angel Sanchez gown a little on the boring side, the hot pink color also worked for her.

As far as misses go, the rest of the gowns were so very boring and “just there” that it there wasn’t even much room to fall of that cliff. Some gowns were “ok” but just did not work for the wearer, while others had no stand out quality either way. Perhaps the ecconomy has brought a concious to starlets and no one wanted to get their glamour on.
